Friend and Champion is all about service. Memorable and worthwhile service is based on relationships. We help businesses and individuals achieve more of what they want, with personal relationships serving as a solid foundation on which to deliver that service.
Years ago, when I was referring more business to others than I was selling my own services, I took some time to examine what that meant. After careful consideration, I came to realize my primary interest is in being of service to others in any way and every way I possibly could be. This was reflected in two main ways.
1. I was listening carefully to my colleagues and business partners to understand what they did that truly was of service to others, whether in the business to business or business to consumer arena. I prepared myself to champion their cause of serving others. I always had my antenna up, tuned in to situations where a colleague's product or service could be applied to satisfy the needs of others.
2. When making sales calls and talking to prospects, I listened carefully to what their needs were. When I recognized a need that could best be met by a product or service offered by one of my colleagues, I would offer to make a referral.
Crystallizing a philosophy.
Out of this self-examination came the name that reflects a deeply rooted philosophy: "Friend and Champion." Being a friend and champion of as many people as possible will bring rich rewards for everyone involved.
The Friend and Champion philosophy is reflected in two ways. First, assume every person you meet is a friend, or worthy of being a friend. Second, if a friend (colleague or business partner) has a mission that resonates with you and you believe will truly benefit others, then share it with others. Be a champion for their cause as well as your own. Always be listening for ways to connect people and organizations who can help each other.

Our primary business is fundamentally built on relationships. The real value of what we do only comes across clearly in the process of developing a relationship, ideally in a brief one-to-one conversation.
