‘Grantwriting 101’ at Hayward Nonprofit Alliance

Members of the Hayward Nonprofit Alliance will learn about the science and art of grantwriting at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 16 at the Hayward Area Historical Society Museum, 22380 Foothill Blvd.

Dana DeBeaumont of Capitol Advocacy Partners represents interests of the City of Hayward in Washington D.C., and also writes grants and will speak on ‘Grantwriting 101 for Small Nonprofits.’

She has more than 30 years of advocacy, media, and public relations experience. For the past 18 years she has successfully represented a range of issues before Congress and federal agencies. She specializes in helping nonprofits and municipal clients.

There are more than 100 nonprofit organizations in the chamber’s Nonprofit Alliance and all members and guests are welcome to attend. Attendees are invited to bring news and handouts to share about their organization’s upcoming events.

Chambers Join for Rowell Rancho Rodeo Mixer

We’ll celebrate a networking mixer from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 20 at the Rowell Ranch Rodeo grounds along with the Castro Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Our friends at the rodeo are chamber members and will treat us with a real cowboy experience, including food, drinks and prizes. Bring your cowboy hat and boots for this one-of-a-kind mixer.

In this fast paced luncheon presentation, Kim Klein will present practical methods for bringing people into your work and helping them want to stay with you. You will learn what strategies work best and what strategies you may want to leave behind. You will walk away with a plan that will allow you to raise money even in these weird times.
